Amazon’s Alexa app sends push notifications to nudge you to connect other devices
Amazon’s Alexa Voice Assistant is the pioneer in voice assisted apps, driving Apple and Google to come up with competing software and hardware solutions. In this example, the Alexa app sent a push notification to connect other devices to it to get more value from Alexa and taking up valuable mindshare and real estate on your device.
Why we think this push notification is good:
The cross-pollination and integrating with other apps, and hardware is a smart move to stay relevant and continually engaging with their users. The more deeply embedded their software is with your own “personal ecosystem” of apps and tools makes the product a lot stickier and drives more usage and of the app. Nice work, Alexa team!
