Waze sends push notifications to let users know of road closures
Waze is a leading navigation app for iOS and Android owned by Google. In this example, Waze has proactively sent a push notification to let their users that regularly commute on the I-280 know that there’s a shutdown of that route, and instead provides alternative routes for their trip.
Why we think this is an awesome push notification:
This sort of information is genuinely help and gives users alternative routes, taking the burden off to figure out what’s the best route given and estimated arrival times. With all that machine learning and artificial intelligence and voice assistance, this solves a very complex pain point for their user base. Hats off to the Waze/Google team for building an awesome and helpful product! 🤠
