How to make the most of your Adobe Summit Experience

‘Tis the season for conferences! You’re making new connections, getting fresh ideas and trying out the latest technology. Unfortunately, that also means you’re not sleeping as much, eating as well as you could be and feeling a little stressed about all of the work waiting for you when you go back.

Next week in Las Vegas will certainly be no exception – your days at Adobe Summit are going to be jam packed with amazing key notes, networking sessions, workshops and parties. Sometimes you’re going to want to take a step back and relax, and that’s ok!

Your down time is just as much part of the experience as the planned activities are. Make the most of your time in Las Vegas using our guide to keeping yourself healthy and energized at Adobe Summit.

1. Use your breaks between sessions to get moving outside

Instead of sitting on your phone and checking Linkedin between sessions, go for a walk! There are so many benefits of a quick walk in the middle of your day, especially at a conference:

  • Taking a walk in the park–or any green space –can lessen your brain fatigue
  • While you’re outside, soaking up some sun (no matter the season or climate) will help alleviate feelings of sluggishness and boosts energy levels.
  • You’ll feel more enthusiastic, less tense, and generally more relaxed

It’s supposed to be nice out, so bring your sunnies and get outside whenever you can!

3. Hit the town without hitting the bar

Yes, Vegas is notorious for its crazy parties, so you’re bound to get thrown some invites as thousands of people gather in sin city. But hitting the town every night can start to take its toll by day 2 or 3. Here are some ideas for a night out that won’t make your mornings at Summit feel like a mountain summit.

  • Night Tours: Take a walking tour to see the city illuminated, the neon lights of downtown or the Fremont Street Experience!
  • Pinball Hall of Fame: “10,000 square feet is dedicated in the new facility to the Pinball Hall of Fame, where the entire family can enjoy non-violent pinball arcade games for small dinero”. Need we say more?
  • High Roller Observation Wheel:See the city from new heights on the iconic wheel that holds the world record for largest observation wheel.

4.Unplug properly at the end of the night

When you retire to your room at the end of a busy day and finally get to kick off your shoes, take a few minutes to mentally unwind. Who knew that relaxing your mind and breathing for a few minutes before bed could help with your networking game? Experts say that 20 minutes of mindfulness:

  • Helps develop positive social connections
  • Increases optimism, relaxation and awareness
  • Increases memory retention and recall
  • Improves immune system and energy levels

If you need some help clearing your mind, there are plenty of apps available to help you, like Breethe or Headspace.

It’s tempting to use your final moments awake on your phone – marketers are notorious for their time spent on social media – but take the time to unplug properly. Your mind will thank you tomorrow.

Make the most of your experience

Just because you’re away from home doesn’t mean you have to throw healthy habits out the window. Feeling at your best will make your Adobe Summit experience an even better one!

We’re heading to Adobe Summit, and would love to see you there – perhaps for a walk and talk? Let us know if you’ll be there!
