Duolingo sends push notifications to let users know they know they’re not engaging with their reminders.

Duolingo is a free language learning app that lets users learning everything from Chinese, French, Spanish and everything in between. In this example, Duolingo sent a push notification to let users know they’re not engaging with their reminders and don’t want to inundate them with more push notifications if they don’t find them useful.

Why we think this push notification is good:

Duolingo has done something different and refreshing and is scaling back their pushes if they’re not being engaged with or useful at all. I don’t know about you, but this helps build trust as they’re not screaming for attention and only want to send pushes that add value to your life rather than screaming “use me!!”. Kudos to the Duolingo Growth Team for being considerate of your users time and attention!
