A/B Test Idea: Offer incentives to share
By offering an incentive to your customers to share your content or their purchases on social media should increase the chances of encouraging them to do so.
This incentive could be anything from offering a discount (such as shown in the image) or another tangible or symbolic reward. Studies have shown that this type of added motivation – called extrinsic motivation – is particularly effective in encouraging people to carry out small tasks.
Studies have shown that the average conversion rate from social media to email list is 1.95%, compared to 0.12% from website to email list.
However, it doesn’t have to be sharing on social media, you can also try the following:
1. Invite friends / family with a double-incentivized coupon code where if your customers share with their friends via email, you both get a discount (or some other incentive)
2. Generate reviews – ask to review what they ordered and your customers get a discount upon approval.
