Yelp sends push notifications to check out the best local spots whenever you arrive in a new city

In this example, Yelp sent out a push notification to let the user know some of the best local spots they’ve arrived in a new city, usually when you turn off airplane mode and connect to the internet on your mobile phone.

Why we think this is a good push notification:

For any tourist that’s arrived in a new city, knowing the best spot for anything is a question that almost always pops up. So in this case, when this user arrived in Toronto, it was probably sent in the morning just before lunch time, right when the user is probably hungry.
